Description
About This Product
The Fronius Smart IP Meter is a bidirectional energy meter used with compatible Fronius solar systems to measure site consumption, grid import and grid export. It gives the inverter accurate energy-flow data so the system can display usable monitoring information in Fronius Solar.web and support smarter energy management.
This IP version is designed for installations that use current transformers, making it suitable where direct-metered Smart Meter models are not the right fit. It communicates with compatible Fronius equipment using Modbus RTU via RS485, with Modbus TCP available over LAN or Wi-Fi.

Who This Product Suits
The Fronius Smart IP Meter suits residential, commercial and higher-current solar installations where a Fronius inverter needs accurate consumption and grid-flow data. It is a good match for sites using compatible Fronius monitoring, export control, battery, EV charging or energy-management functions.
It is best suited to licensed solar and electrical installers who are already working with Fronius systems and require a CT-based meter rather than a simple direct-connected meter. Current transformers must be selected and installed correctly for the site.
Specifications Explained
The Fronius Smart IP Meter is a three-phase capable, CT-based meter for measuring energy flows in a Fronius system. It is intended for use with current transformers that have a 333 mV secondary output, with supported primary current selection up to 5000 A depending on the CTs used.
Communication options include Modbus RTU over RS485 and Modbus TCP over LAN or Wi-Fi. It supports 50 Hz and 60 Hz networks, has Class 1 / Class B active energy accuracy, and Class 2 reactive energy accuracy. The meter is DIN-rail mounted for installation inside an electrical enclosure and is rated IP20 at the front with IP30 terminals.
Summary
The Fronius Smart IP Meter is a practical monitoring and control accessory for compatible Fronius solar systems, especially where CT-based metering is required. It helps the system understand import, export and consumption so the customer and installer can see clearer performance data and configure energy-management functions more accurately.
For best results, it should be installed by a licensed electrician or solar installer familiar with Fronius inverters, CT wiring, Modbus communication and local network setup.
Further Information From The Manufacturer
The Fronius Smart Meter TS is a fixed piece of equipment for public grids of TN/TT systems and records self-consumption and/or individual loads in the system. The Fronius Smart Meter TS is required for systems with a battery storage 12 system and/or a Fronius Ohmpilot installed for communication between the individual components
